SHORT DESC: The Bangle of Lost Souls
LONG DESC: A black electrum with protruding shards lies here.
OBJECT DESC:
Shards of the darkest of red inlay a bracelet of the darkest black. The shards are shaped in such a fashion that it seems as though the bracelet itself is bleeding. The shards are razor-sharp and spaced in such a fashion that they equipoise each other perfectly. The band itself is made of a material that is the darkest of black yet has an electrum sheen that contradicts its natural color. The band is very cool to the touch. Story:
On one of my many visits to Hell, I started thinking about what my life meant to me and what defined me as a person. I have always been amorous of the thought of riches and adventure and I found myself contemplating the suffering of my life and how I always have felt lost in a world of warriors, mages, druids, clerics, and thieves. I decided to pay tribute to what I have become by asking the Great Elvensmiths and Molders to make me a bracelet that is defines my passage in life. I thought of all of the things that could possibly be needed to make such a piece of equipment and the first of my list was right before my eyes. A bubbling fountain of bloody nectar spewed out, providing all visitors with a repulsive means of quenching their thirst. I thought that this drink was a fitting symbol of the suffering and torment of my life and actions in this realm. Drinking the blood of the souls that I have had a hand in sending to this retched place. I filled my flask full of the foul fluid and proceeded to find a way out. Upon leaving Hell, I resumed my task of searching for items to complete my meld. First, I took M’Lady to Tokugawa and visited an old enemy of mine, Merle Cory. I swiftly placed my weapon deep inside of him, gave a twist for good measures, and watched as the life slowly subsided from his eyes. I took his prized bracelet in which he named ‘Frakir’. This band he wore was invisible and would have been very hard to find had it not been for the yellow potion I had quaffed before battle. This, Frakir, was a very durable band and one of the two items that would serve as the base for the band of my soon-to-be bracelet. I then proceeded to the Moirrane Gardens to find the Zenmaster Elf to take his life and his precious dragon tail bone bracelet. I was in need of this particular piece of equipment, not only because it would be the second crucial part of the band for my eq, but also because for some reason it caused the wearer to hit harder and hit more often. As I was walking back to Midgaard to get some nourishment and refreshment, I passed by a mysterious man standing in a dark alley. Being the mysterious type myself, I quickly realized that he was a black market jeweler and when no one was looking I inspected his wares. He happened to be in possession of three onyx and one large diamond. He assured me that when held, the diamond also increased one’s ability to hit more frequently. I bought the jewels and put them in my bag of holding and set off in search of the final two items for my meld. As I was sitting on the bench in Market Square, the lovely and always courteous Aliana happened to pass by. She saw that I was deep in thought and being the kind woman that she is, she stopped and asked if everything was all right. I told her about my search for items and she offered a hand. She said that in her travels to Angmar’s Castle, she happened to encounter and kill Angmar. She told me that at the time of his demise, he happened to be wearing a Talisman of Chaos. She told me that it could only be worn by people with the darkest of hearts and with no insult intended, she thought that it might be of use to me. I happily agreed to pay her for the Talisman but being the humble and generous woman that she is, she politely resisted all attempts of payment. I thanked her for her ever-kind heart and generosity, hugged her affectionately, bowed deeply, and proceeded on my way in search of the one man who could help me with the last item on the list. Finding this legendary warrior has never been an easy task. He is always in search of great adventure whether it is slaying Ancient Dragons of Lore or beheading the Olhydra. Luckily for me I caught him before he took off on his adventures. Sir Goner the Pakalolo Warrior was carefully choosing the weapon that would best suit him for battle when I approached him. He was surprised by approach and I almost ended up wearing my head as a shoe ornament. He was ever so eager to use his newly acquired Light saber and spooking him was about the fastest way to end up on the business end of his new toy. When he realized it was I, he chuckled politely and before I could ask him about the last bit of equipment, he asked me if I wanted to take a trip to the Ethereal Plane and kill Adaki and I eagerly agreed. I love a great adventure and am always willing to lend a hand. Soon Sniper, Sir Goner, Aliana, and I were on our way. Just before entering the Ethereal Plane, Sir Goner handed me a pair of gauntlets that had an eerie electrum shine to them and I knew that these where the last item on my list of things to gather for my meld. We quickly slaughtered Adaki and afterward I spoke to Sir Goner about purchasing these Electrum Gauntlets. He told me to just keep them as a reward for helping to slay Adaki and for not perishing in the process. I told him that his gesture was much appreciated and I returned to Midgaard to prepare for my journey to the Great Elvensmiths and Molders. I put all of the items in a bag of holding and sealed it tightly and embarked on my journey to see the Elvensmiths and Molders. Included in the items was a piece of parchment with specific instructions for the meld. The instructions read like this: First, with great fire and tremendous pressure, the huge diamond, two of the four small onyx, and the bloody nectar will be molded together to create one large blood stone. This stone will be broken into six smooth yet razor-sharp shards. The Frakir, dragon tail bone bracelet, Electrum Gauntlets, Talisman of Chaos, and the remaining two onyxes are then to be forged together into a band of the blackest of material with an eerie electrum sheen. When both of these tasks are complete, the six shards of bloodstone should be evenly inlaid into the band so as to cause the appearance that the band itself is always bleeding which represents the suffering of all of the lost souls that I have separated from body, to always remind me that to live is to suffer, and to always keep my past and trials close to me. When this is complete, the band should be dipped into the Great Wine River to trap all carbon molecules and magic into the band and shards. It then should be polished repeatedly until it will forever have a flawless gleam. Such a perfect meld should reflect all that I am and all that I feel. Thus, I name this meld the Bangle of Lost Souls.
